As a sign of international confidence in Colombia following the country's rise in past years culminating in its best results ever this year, the Free Trade Agreement was signed between Colombia and the United States marking the third such treaty between the Colombian government and developed nations. On October 21, after a lengthy process which began in 2007, President Barack Obama signed the agreement with Colombia after it was approved by the US Congress. The FTA with Colombia will go into effect during the second half of next year, once President Obama rules it is ready to be put into action. The treaty will place Colombian products in permanently preferential conditions in the world's largest market with over 310 million inhabitants, a domestic product of more than 14.6 billion dollars and GDP per capita of 47,400 USD according to 2010 figures. Thanks to the treaty, Colombia has gained access to practically all US industrial products (99.9%) and has granted the US access to 81.8% of Colombian products, 92.5% of which are raw materials and capital goods not produced in the country. We had a great time in Colombia. Javier would have a better idea of where we specifically filmed. The people of Colombia were so warm and welcoming. Everyone that we worked with was very professional and eager to make the show a success. We filmed everywhere from downtown Bogota to a cocaine field that was only accessibly by police helicopter. The access was unbelievable and the production wouldn't have been possible without Javier Delgado and his resources. We're looking forward to coming back to Colombia very soon!
