BBC Documentary Filmed in Colombia Premieres in London While in Colombia, Lost Kingdoms of South America contracted production services with Screen Colombia The BBC documentary series Lost Kingdoms of South America includes four episodes exploring the legacy of indigenous communities in Colombia, Bolivia and Peru, trekking to temples hidden in the dense jungle, mountaintops presided over by darkened citadels, gloomy underground tombs and exquisite sculptures of gods and forgotten kings. The secrets of these South American kingdoms are among the oldest in the world and have only just begun to be discovered. The kingdoms flourished hundreds, sometimes thousands of years before the arrival of the Incas and the Spanish conquistadors. Many of them have been almost completely forgotten. Presented by British archaeologist Jago Cooper, the episode filmed in Colombia travels through mountains and jungles in search of the truth about the Legend of El Dorado.
